When preparing vegetarian meals or meatless meals, having the right pantry staples is a must! There is nothing worse than going to prepare a delicious meal and not having the right ingredients in the house.
Here is my “must have” list of ingredients that you should have on hand.

There is so many great options for a no meat lent meal. Eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, soups, side dishes, just to name a few.
You can eat anything that does not contain meat or is created from meat such as chicken and beef broth. Fish, seafood, dairy, and egg products are okay. Follow a vegetarian diet if you need some guidance.
Yes, all Friday’s between Ash Wednesday and Easter are meatless for participating Catholic members. Meatless Friday’s are not for everyone and not all Catholic’s participate. And that’s okay.

- Prepared Pizza Dough 4 ounces
- Smoked Fish Dip 2 tablespoons
- Smoked Salmon Piece 1 filet
- Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded 1/2 cup
How to Make a Smoked Salmon Pizza Recipe
- Gather the ingredients to make the recipe for smoked salmon pizza.
- Turn on and preheat the Blackstone pizza oven on medium-high heat. Preheating will take about 10 or 15 minutes. It is best to cook the homemade smoked salmon pizza recipe directly on the hot pizza stone.
- Press out the prepared pizza dough ball. Flour your fingertips/rolling pin well to prevent sticking to the dough.
- To easily move, build the pizza on top of the pizza peel. TIP: Use a plenty of cornmeal under the pizza dough to prevent sticking and to help getting it in and out of the pizza oven. To get the prepared pizza dough to the desired size, use the tips of your floured fingers to press the dough from the center outward. For an lighter crust, use your fingertips to stretch out. For a thin crust, use a rolling pin.
- Spread a thin layer of the prepared softened smoked fish dip on top of the uncooked pizza dough crust.
- Sprinkle the shredded boneless smoked salmon and a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the cream cheese salmon dip.
How to Cook a Smoked Salmon Pizza Recipe
- When the pizza oven temperature gauge is at least 500°F or higher, cook the salmon pizza. Use the pizza peel to slide the prepared smoked salmon pizza to the back of the pizza oven. Every couple minutes, check the pizza. Use the pizza peel to rotate the baking smoked salmon pizza on the pizza stone to help it cook evenly. Homemade pizza cooking times will vary for all pizza ovens. Smaller pizzas will bake in 4 to 6 minutes. A large pizza will bake in about 10 minutes.
- When the homemade smoked salmon pizza has a crispy golden-brown bottom crust and the top melted cheese is browned, remove from the Blackstone pizza oven. Make sure to check the center of the baked pizza is fully cooked.
- Place the freshly baked pizza with smoked salmon on a cutting board to cut into pieces with a pizza rocker or pizza cutter. Serve while hot with your favorite side dish like a salad.
