When fish comes off our smoker the first thing that my family requests is Smoked Fish Dip. If you are looking to try something smoky and creamy, this dip is for you!
The BEST recipe for Smoked Fish Dip in Michigan!! Fishing is plentiful in Michigan, so a lot of fish have made their way too many smokers.
4 ingredients are all it takes to make this super easy best dip ever! You’ll love this dip recipe and is sure to become a great dip appetizer or snack treat for your next gathering. Make this creamy dip extra special with some add-ins like flavorful in-season herbs or pickled vegetables.
What Kind of Fish Do You Use in Smoked Fish Dips?
Any fish that you have smoked will work in this recipe. Just make sure that all bones are removed from the fish before making it into the dip. In our house we usually use salmon or trout fish.
How to Make Dips
Gather all of your ingredients.
Take your smoked fish and flake the pieces with a fork. Make sure when you are separating the layers of fish that you are watching and picking out any bones that may not have been removed. Discard any skin that may be left on the fish.
Combine all of the ingredients into a large bowl and stir together until smooth and completely incorporated. Add your favorite seasoned pepper to taste.
Place the homemade dip into a clean serving bowl, cover and refridgerate until ready to serve. Serve with your favorite cracker, pita chips or vegetables.
This is the perfect tailgating dip because you can grab a couple sleeves of crackers and place the dip into a disposable container in the cooler.
What to Serve with this Smoked Fish Dip
This smoked fish dip is great served on a meat and cheese charcuterie board along with other dishes. Another option is to add this taco dip to the center of the board and arrange the rest of your items around it.
I also like to serve a white queso dip or a Velveeta queso blanco dip recipe. My family’s favorite on a charcuterie board is this pickled pike recipe.
