What To Bake Fruit Pizza On

You can bake a fruit pizza on a 9×13 baking pan, a cookie sheet pan, or a round pizza pan with no holes.  No parchment paper or baking mat needed.

The butter in the cookie dough will prevent the crust from sticking to the pan.

Combine all three ingredients into a medium sized mixing bowl.  Using a silicone spatula, stir all ingredients together until it’s completely combined, and a dough ball forms.

Do not over mix the dough.  Place the cookie dough ball on an ungreased pizza pan

With your fingertips, press the cookie dough out to cover the pizza pan.  Spread evenly so the sugar cookie dough will bake evenly.

You can also use a rolling pin to spread out the sugar cookie dough. Preheat the Blackstone Pizza Oven on medium heat with the oven temperature gauge reading 425°F.

Heating the Blackstone pizza oven will take about 10 minutes.

How to Make Fruit Pizza Frosting

Gather your fruit pizza frosting ingredients.  The key to making this frosting recipe is using softened cream cheese and butter.

Add the softened butter and cream cheese to a medium sized mixing bowl.  With a silicone spatula, combine the butter and cream cheese until smooth and incorporated together.

Add the vanilla extract and stir to combine.  Next, add about ½ cup of the powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture.  Stir to combine.

Add the last of the powdered sugar and mix until completely smooth.  Set aside this easy fruit pizza frosting until ready to use.

Fruit for Fruit Cookie Pizza

Choosing the right fruit is very important when making your fruit cookie pizza.  Make sure to use fresh fruit and not frozen fruit.

When picking the fresh fruit that you will be using, consider what is in season, the length of time that the cookie fruit pizza will be served, and what type of fruit that your guests will like.

Pick fruit that holds up well and looks good when cut into small pieces.  Great fresh fruit options are strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, grapes, kiwi, pineapple, clementine mandarin oranges, and apples that have been soaked in a lemon water.

Fruits to avoid are watermelon because they will seep onto the pizza and bananas because they will turn brown very quickly.  Clean and dice your desired fruit into small pieces.

If using blueberries and raspberries, keep whole.  You will want about three cups of total fruit pieces.

Remember, you want small bite sized pieces of fruit.  When a person takes a bite of the cookie pizza, you want them to have a couple pieces of fruit in each bite.

How to Bake the Blackstone Cookie Fruit Pizza

Once the Blackstone Pizza Oven reaches 425°F, you can bake the cookie crust.  Place the pizza pan with the pressed-out cookie dough into the hot pizza oven.

If desired, put the oven door back into place.  Cooking times will vary for every pizza oven.

Check and rotate the pizza pan every few minutes.  When the cookie dough crust becomes golden brown and is done in the center, remove from the Blackstone pizza oven with a pizza peel or oven mitt.

Let the crust cool before assembling the fruit cookie pizza.

How to Assemble a Fruit Cookie Pizza

Once the cookie crust is cool, spread an even layer of the prepared fruit pizza frosting on top of the cookie crust.  Doing one fruit at a time, sprinkle evenly over the cream cheese frosting.

Continue with each of the remaining fruits until you have sprinkled all of the fruit onto the cookie pizza.  Garnish with a dusting of powdered sugar.

Serve a slice of fruit pizza with an assortment of other desserts or as a dessert for the end of a great meal.

How To Store Leftover Fruit Pizza

Fruit pizza is best served the day of preparation. Place leftover fruit pizza in an airtight container and cover with a lid.

You can also wrap the leftover fruit pizza in plastic wrap and keep it in the fridge for up to 3 days.  Be prepared that the fruit pizza is best served right away, however the crust will be a bit soft from the cream cheese and fruit moisture.

Mini Fruit Pizza

Want individual servings? Make mini pizzas using a cupcake pan or bake small sugar cookie crust on a baking sheet, cool completely, add the cream cheese frosting, and fruit pieces.

What to Serve with a Cookie Fruit Pizza

You have many options of items to serve with the cookie fruit pizza. Try this Pizza Hut Breadsticks recipe, Blackstone Pizza Oven Pepperoni Pizza, a Detroit Style Pizza, Smoked Salmon Pizza, and a Chicken Alfredo Pizza.
