Why You’ll Love This Frozen Pizza in a Pizza Oven
There are so many reasons to love cooking frozen pizza in a Blackstone Pizza Oven. It’s a convenient way to make a satisfying meal without spending hours preparing homemade pizza dough or pizza sauce.
I especially love being able to customize a basic frozen pizza with extra toppings. Adding a little more cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, or vegetables makes an ordinary frozen pizza taste like something special.
The Blackstone Pizza Oven is designed to cook pizza at high temperatures, helping create a delicious, crispy crust and beautifully melted cheese.
This recipe is also perfect for busy weeknights, family pizza nights, unexpected guests, or those evenings when you just don’t feel like cooking a complicated meal.
Ingredients Needed for Blackstone Frozen Pizza
One of the best things about this recipe is how simple the ingredients are. Start with your favorite frozen pizza and add as many or as few toppings as you like.
- Frozen Pizza: I prefer Jack’s Frozen Pizza because I love its thin crust and how crispy it gets in my Blackstone Pizza Oven. However, you can use another brand of frozen pizza if you prefer.
- Shredded Cheese: Add extra mozzarella, a pizza cheese blend, or your favorite shredded cheese for a gooey, cheesy pizza. This is a must add because there is never enough cheese on a frozen pizza!
- Pepperoni: Extra pepperoni is an easy way to add more flavor to your frozen pizza.
- Vegetables: Mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, black olives, and banana peppers are some of my favorite options.
- Additional Toppings: Try cooked bacon, ham, jalapeños, or any of your favorite pizza toppings.

Chef Sherry’s Tip: Be careful not to overload your pizza with too many wet toppings. Thin-crust frozen pizzas cook best when the toppings are evenly distributed, allowing the crust to become crispy without getting soggy.
How to Cook Frozen Pizza in a Blackstone Pizza Oven
Cooking a frozen pizza in a Blackstone Pizza Oven is easy, but there are a few important things to remember. Frozen pizzas are different from fresh homemade pizzas because the crust and toppings need time to heat all the way through.
Step 1: Preheat the Blackstone Pizza Oven: Start by preheating your Blackstone Pizza Oven according to the manufacturer’s instructions. For frozen pizza, I recommend using a more moderate stone temperature than you would for a fresh, homemade pizza. This gives the frozen crust and toppings time to heat thoroughly without burning the bottom. Because Blackstone Pizza Oven models can vary, monitor the stone temperature and adjust the heat as needed.
Step 2: Prepare the Frozen Pizza: Remove the Jack’s Frozen Pizza from its packaging and discard the plastic wrap and cardboard. Place the frozen pizza on a pizza peel or a pizza pan for adding your toppings. You do not need to thaw the frozen pizza before cooking unless the package or your pizza oven’s instructions specifically recommend doing so.
Step 3: Add Your Favorite Pizza Toppings: Now comes my favorite part! Add extra shredded cheese, pepperoni, cooked sausage, mushrooms, onions, peppers, or whatever toppings your family enjoys. I like to pile my Jack’s Frozen Pizza with a delicious combination of toppings, making it taste more like a specialty pizza. Spread everything evenly across the pizza so it cooks consistently. If you’re in a hurry, you can skip the additional toppings and cook the frozen pizza just as it comes from the package.

How Long to Cook a Frozen Pizza in Oven?
Step 4: Cook the Frozen Pizza: Carefully transfer the frozen pizza directly onto the preheated pizza stone using a pizza peel or place your pizza pan into the hot pizza oven. Cook until the crust is golden brown and crispy, the cheese is completely melted, and the toppings are hot. Watch the pizza closely and rotate it as needed for even cooking if you don’t have a rotating stone. Frozen pizza generally takes longer to cook than fresh pizza dough, so avoid using extremely high temperatures that could burn the bottom before the center is heated. Cooking time will vary depending on the frozen pizza brand, thickness, number of additional toppings, stone temperature, and Blackstone Pizza Oven model.

Step 5: Remove, Slice, and Serve: Once the crust is crispy and the cheese is melted and bubbly, carefully remove the pizza from the oven. Let it rest for a minute or two before slicing. Cut into your desired number of slices and serve immediately while the cheese is warm and the crust is crispy. Enjoy your delicious Blackstone Pizza Oven Frozen Pizza!

Tips for Making the BEST Frozen Pizza in a Blackstone Pizza Oven
After years of cooking and experimenting with different recipes, I’ve learned that a few simple techniques can make a big difference.
Watch the Stone Temperature: Frozen pizzas need enough time to heat through, so avoid cooking them on an excessively hot pizza stone. A moderate temperature helps prevent the bottom from burning before the cheese and toppings are ready.
Use a Thin-Crust Pizza: I love Jack’s Frozen Pizza because its thin crust can become wonderfully crispy. Other thin-crust frozen pizzas are also great options.
Don’t Overload with Wet Ingredients: Adding too many fresh vegetables or other ingredients that release moisture can make the pizza soggy. Use moderate amounts and consider precooking vegetables with high moisture content.
Use Fully Cooked Meats: When adding sausage, chicken, bacon, or other meats, make sure they’re fully cooked before putting them on your frozen pizza.
Rotate the Pizza: Depending on your Blackstone Pizza Oven model, rotating the pizza helps ensure the crust and toppings cook evenly.
Keep an Eye on the Pizza: Frozen pizzas can vary significantly in thickness and cooking requirements. Watch the crust and cheese closely rather than relying only on a timer.
Chef Sherry’s Tip: If the bottom of the pizza is browning faster than the toppings are heating, reduce the oven heat as appropriate for your model. This allows the pizza to finish cooking without burning the crust.

What to Serve with Frozen Pizza
Although this Blackstone Pizza Oven Frozen Pizza makes a delicious meal all by itself, I love serving it with a few simple side dishes to round out dinner.
A fresh garden salad or Caesar salad is one of my favorite choices because the crisp vegetables pair perfectly with the cheesy pizza. Add your favorite dressing and you have an easy meal that requires very little preparation.
Garlic bread, copycat Pizza Hut breadsticks, or warm dinner rolls are also delicious options, especially when serving pizza for a family gathering or pizza night.
If you want to add more vegetables to your meal, try sautéed broccoli, griddle roasted asparagus, grilled zucchini, or a colorful vegetable platter with ranch dressing.
For a fun pizza party, serve your frozen pizza with chicken wings or mozzarella sticks along with a variety of dipping sauces.
And don’t forget dessert! Homemade brownies, chocolate chip cookies, or a simple fruit salad are perfect ways to finish your pizza night.
