Carrots on Blackstone Griddle

Your Blackstone Griddle is your best friend when it comes to quick and easy!!  Cooking these glazed carrots recipe will take about 10 minutes.

I like to slice the carrots ahead of time and have side bowls of brown sugar and butter already to go.  That way when I’m ready to cook the carrots, it only takes a few minutes right before the meal.

How to make this Glazed Carrots Recipe

Gather all your ingredients to make your brown sugared carrots.

Preheat the Blackstone Griddle on medium.  Add a thin layer of oil if your griddle looks dry.

Peel and trim the ends of your carrots. Slice the carrots into the desired shapes. I like to use a mandolin with the carrots on an angle.

Once the griddle is hot, add the sliced carrots.  With a water bottle, squirt water all around and onto the carrots.  Immediately cover with a dome lid to steam the carrots.

On a hot griddle, place the carrots and add some water. Cover with a dome lid to steam and cook the carrots.
Cover carrots with a dome lid to cook.

Cook about 2 minutes, uncover, and stir the steamed carrots.  Add more water around the carrots and cover again for a couple more minutes.

Time to test the carrots for doneness.  If the carrots are not tender, then repeat the previous step. You want the carrots to be JUST tender because if you cook them too long, they will become all mushy.

Glazed Carrots with Brown Sugar

If the carrots are tender, toss again, top with the butter and then the brown sugar.  Do not cover.  Do not toss.

Place butter and brown sugar over cooked carrots.

Just let everything cook for a couple of minutes.  You will see the butter and brown sugar start to bubble together.

Fresh is best!!  Yes, you can make them in advance, but the glazed carrots will not taste as good.  The cooked butter and brown sugar will create a caramel sauce.  When the sauce cools, it will harden creating a not so desirable vegetable side dish.

      • I didn’t measure the carrots when I cut them and my mandoline does not have a measurement on it. I don’t see why you can’t swap out the brown sugar for honey but I have not tested it.
