Thanksgiving Recipes – Easy to Make – FAQ
Get the family involved to make a charcuterie board with all the favorite appetizers to keep hungry guests out of the kitchen while you cook. The easiest thing to make on Thanksgiving is the turkey. Use my oven bag method and the turkey will be ready on time, with little fussing. Just pull out of the oven, place the turkey on a platter and cut up for everyone to enjoy.
Make sure to add your family favorites to this list!! Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry stuffing, mashed squash, applesauce, and dinner rolls are a must for our Thanksgiving Dinner. If we can manage more, appetizers, specialty drinks and a selection of desserts for after dinner are added.
This is my trick of making a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner. Make mashed squash, applesauce, smoked fish, pickled fish, caramel apples, pumpkin scomuffies, mini cheesecakes, the slush drinks, and the dried apple rings ahead of time. The squash, applesauce, and slush drinks can be made several months before Thanksgiving and frozen until ready to use. Make, buy, or have your guests bring the desserts. I have even prepped my potatoes to be boiled for mashed potatoes the night before by peeling, cutting into chunks, covering with cold water and adding salt to the water.
