What Can I Make on my Blackstone Griddle?

7 Things to Consider When Making Appetizer Recipes on the Blackstone

  1. Keep it simple. Don’t choose complicated Blackstone appetizers that will take you away from your guests.
  2. Plan your menu ahead of time and do as much prep work as you can.
  3. Avoid repeating textures and tastes. Your choices should have a balance in flavor and all word well together.
  4. Have a contrast in shapes and colors. Remember that people eat with their eyes. If it looks good, that will be the first thing that your guests will choose. Pick colors according to your theme.
  5. Remember food safety. Consider the temperature of each appetizer and how long it is going to be setting out.  Keep hot things hot and cold things cold.
  6. Finger food, easy to make, and crowd pleasing are what will all be great appetizer recipes.
  7. Make family favorite Blackstone Griddle appetizer recipes. Tried and true recipes are what people want. If it looks good but tastes bad, your guests will leave with a bad experience. And that is not what you want!!

How Many Appetizers Per Person?

This is a question that so many people are wondering, how many appetizers should I plan on for each of my guests? The number will vary depending on many factors.

Are you serving a meal after your appetizers?  Is this just a cocktail party where you are serving drinks and appetizers?  Are you having a Super Bowl party and serving appetizers through a span of several hours?

If you are having appetizers before a dinner party, the unwritten rule would be 5-7 appetizers per person.  For a Super Bowl snacks party or cocktail party plan on serving about 12-14 appetizers per guest.

Appetizer Table

Create an appetizer table that has a lot of space around it.  People tend to gather around the food table, and you don’t want to block access to the snacks.

There is nothing worse than your fresh appetizer food losing its game day cheer!  Pick a theme for your party and decorate the table to match.

Make sure to be able to keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold.  Use chafing dishes or a slow cooker for the hot foods and have cold foods on ice.

If you are serving the appetizers in courses, then clean up as you go so that you don’t have unsafe food laying around.

Appetizer Platter

Consider making an appetizer platter or appetizer charcuterie board.  Gather a collection of your appetizers recipes in a large serving platter for your guests to access very easily.

Blackstone Griddle Appetizer Recipes - Queso Dip, Assortment of Chicken Wings, Griddle Shrimp, and Smashed Potatoes along with an assortment of dipping sauces.

Use a variety of different sized matching bowls and plates.  Fill in the empty spaces with non- griddle items if needed such as deli ham and cheese slices, pita chips, tortilla chips, potato chips, mini baguette bread slices, and pickled items.

Don’t forget to add dipping sauces so that your guests aren’t bugging you for them during the party.  Make sure to add ranch dressing, flavor aioli (try my pesto aioli), your favorite sauce recipe, and yes, even ketchup because someone will ask for it!!  Label each sauce unless you want to keep explaining what you have.

Mini Tongs for Appetizers

Don’t forget to add mini tongs for your appetizers.  Or to be more covid friendly consider using toothpicks or mini skewer sticks.

The Dollar Tree has great options for disposable mini tongs, fancy toothpicks, and skewers at a great price.  Check to see if they have theme items available.

Disposable Appetizer Plates

USE DISPOSABLE APPETIZER PLATES because there is nothing worse than sitting at the sink washing dishes after a long party.  Once you choose your theme, look on-line or at your dollar store for items to match.

There are so many options if you just look, and on-line shopping is the best.  Make sure to have plenty of garbage bins available for your guests to dispose of their trash.

What Drinks to Serve with my Appetizers

Make sure to have a selection of drinks for your guests.  Have both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options available.

If serving cold drinks use a mini blow-up container or a cooler with a lot of ice.  Store alcoholic drinks away from non-alcoholic drinks so that your guests are not confused with their choices.

Consider my strawberry whisky slush, spiced rum apple slush, or check out my collection of freezer door cocktails.
