Prepare the Griddle Egg Recipes

Preheat the Griddle:  Preheating your griddle to medium heat is super important.  It’s essential to ensure the griddle is hot to prevent the eggs from sticking.

Prepare the Surface:  Add a small amount of cooking spray, butter or oil to the griddle surface and spread it evenly using a griddle spatula.  The grease prevents the eggs from sticking and also adds flavor so choose carefully.

Crack the Eggs:  Crack an egg on a flat surface. For best results, crack the desired number of eggs into a bowl.  Yes, I said a bowl!!  Check and remove any shells.

Fluffy Scrambled Eggs:  To achieve a fluffy scrambled egg, add a splash of heavy cream or milk to the bowl of eggs and use a fork to scramble until completely combined.

Don’t Forget to Season:  Seasoning the eggs with your favorite spices or herbs to taste while it’s cooking is super important.  There are times that I forget the season my eggs.  When I go to eat them, I will sprinkle with salt and pepper, but it just doesn’t taste the same.

Prepare Other Ingredients:  If making sandwiches, prep all the ingredients needed such as cheese, meat, and bread.  When making breakfast tacos, have the right sized soft-shell tacos, fillings, and shredded cheese.  If making steak and eggs, griddle cook the steak and let it rest before making the fried egg for the top.

Griddle Eggs Tips

Cook to Perfection:  Decide how you want to cook your eggs before starting.  Fried, egg patties, and scrambled are all different and require different preparation.  Eggs cook very quickly so make sure to pay attention while making them.

The Perfect Fried Egg:  Do not cook fried eggs in a cluster.  Cook each egg by itself on the griddle to give plenty space to flip if needed.  Let the egg cook and use a griddle spatula to flip.  Make sure to position the spatula under the majority of the egg and then quickly flip it over being careful not to break the yolk.

Toppings:  You can also add toppings like shredded cheese, fresh or cooked vegetables, or cooked meats.  Do this as the eggs are cooking or add them to the top as a garnish to provide extra flavor and texture.

Serve Eggs Hot:  Eggs are best served hot with your favorite sides.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I cook eggs directly on the griddle without them sticking?

Yes, with proper preheating and a thin layer of your desired grease, you can cook eggs directly on the griddle surface without them sticking.

How do I prevent my eggs from overcooking on the griddle?

Eggs cook very quickly!  Keep a close eye on the eggs as they cook and remove them from the griddle as soon as they reach the desired level of doneness.  Cooking eggs over medium heat and avoiding high temperatures can also help prevent overcooking.
