Supplies Needed to Make Egg Sandwich
- Blackstone Griddle or Blackstone E-series Griddle or Frying Pan
- Egg Rings
- Spatula or Plastic Spatula
- Tongs with Silicone tips
How to Make a Ham Egg and Cheese Sandwich on a Blackstone
Preheat the Blackstone Griddle to low heat. Do not use medium high heat as the eggs will cook too quickly. If using an e-series griddle, set the temperature settings to 400°F.
Gather your ingredients to make your sandwich. Cut the English muffin in half the long way. If desired, lightly butter the insides of the muffin.
Once the griddle is hot, place the English muffin on the cut side down to toast the bread. Place the ham slices onto the griddle to heat up and get a little golden-brown color.
Making an Egg Patty
Prepare the egg patty using one of the three methods depending on your desired outcome. The first method is like a fried egg patty, where the second method is like a scrambled egg patty and the third method is a nice fluffy egg patty.
All methods use a round egg mold to form the proper shape for the egg McMuffin sandwich. Make sure to lightly grease the griddle surface with butter, oil, or cooking spray.
Lay the round egg mold onto the greased surface. For extra flavor, sprinkle the top of the eggs in the mold with a bit of salt and pepper. Use a dome lid or the griddle lid to help cook the eggs. A sign that the patties are done when the eggs stop jiggling, and they are not slimy.
Three Different Cooking Methods
- First method is just to crack the egg into the mold and gently break the yolk so that you can swirl the egg white and yolk together slightly. Let the egg patty cook until set and flip over if desired to cook longer. Before you take off the griddle, place a slice of cheese on the patty to melt. Remove when done.
- The second method is to break the egg into a dish and use a fork to scramble the egg together until all combined. Pour into the egg mold, cook until set and flip if desired. Set aside until ready to assemble the sandwich. Place a slice of cheese on the egg patty.
- The third method is to break the egg into a small bowl. Add a splash of heavy whipping cream to the egg and scramble together until just combined. After the egg mold has been placed onto the hot griddle, pour the egg mixture into it. Cook until the egg is set and flip to cook the other side. Place a slice of cheese on top of the egg patty to melt. Remove when the egg is done.
Assemble the Ham and Egg Sandwich
You will be making your ham and cheese egg sandwich in layers. Place the bottom piece of the English muffin first on your work surface.
Add the hot sliced ham, then the egg patty with the melted cheese, and place the second piece of the English muffin on top. If desired, add some of this McDonalds Breakfast Sauce for extra flavor.
How to Make a Ham Egg and Cheese Sandwich on the Stove
If you don’t have a Blackstone Griddle, that’s okay. Use a large skillet on the stove over medium heat.
Grill the egg sandwich as described above but do it in stages if needed due to size restraints of the fry pan. Assemble the ham cheese and egg sandwich in layers starting with the bottom muffin, ham, egg, cheese and finally the muffin top.
How To Store Ham and Egg Sandwich?
Breakfast sandwiches store well when taken care of properly. After your fully assembled sandwich is cooled down, wrap tightly in plastic wrap.
Place in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 6 days. Reheat in the microwave for 30 to 45 seconds. Or warm up in the air fryer until the desired temperature is reached.
