Cream Cheese Veggie Pizza Topping

Making the cream cheese topping for your vegetable pizza is super easy with a few tips.  Gather all the cream cheese topping ingredients.

Combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and the dill dip mix into a small mixing bowl.  Using a spatula, blend the three ingredients together until smooth and creamy.  Set aside until ready to use.

How to Prepare a Vegetable Pizza Crust

Let’s keep it simple.  I like to use a tube of crescent dough sheet for the veggie pizza crust.

If using a store-bought pizza dough or homemade pizza dough will give you a different tasting veggie pizza recipe. Store bought dough (pizza) and homemade dough (pizza) is not recommended.

Choose the type of baking pan that you will be using.  I have used a half sheet pan (11×13) or a Pyrex baking dish.  Lightly grease the pan.

Open the crescent roll tube and unroll.  Without ripping the crescent roll sheet apart, spread into the bottom of the lightly greased baking pan.

With your fingertips, gently press the crescent dough to create an even layer in the bottom of the pan.

How to Bake the Veggie Pizza Crust in a Pizza Oven

Preheat the Blackstone Pizza Oven to low heat.  When cooking the crescent roll pizza crust, low and slow temperature is best.

Baking the crescent roll veggy pizza crust at too high of a temperature will result in raw, burnt crescent dough.  Pizza crust cooking times will vary based on each pizza oven, the surrounding air temperatures, and the wind flow around the pizza oven.

Place the prepared crescent pizza crust pan into the preheated pizza oven.  Leave the door off to be able to watch the pizza crust cook.

Rotate the pan in the middle of the cooking process using hot pads.  Once the crescent roll crust is golden brown and fully cooked, remove from the pizza oven with hot pads.

Let the crust cool completely before adding the toppings.

Bake the Crescent Roll Vegetable Pizza Crust in an Oven

If you don’t have a pizza oven, that’s okay.  Bake the crescent roll pizza crust in a convection oven.

Preheat the oven to 350°F.  Prepare the pizza crust in a greased baking sheet pan.

Bake the pizza crust about 10 minutes.  Check for doneness.  Cook longer if needed.  The crescent roll veggie pizza crust should be golden brown and cooked in the center.

Remove from the oven when completely baked with a crispy crust.  Let the pizza crust cool for about one hour until completely cooled.

How to Make Veggie Pizza

Once the prepared veggy pizza crust is cool, spread an even layer of the cream cheese veggie pizza topping over the crust.

Start with one chopped vegetable and sprinkle an even layer over the cream cheese mixture.  Then the next vegetable and the next vegetable.

You want an even layer of assorted different vegetables.  If desired, add additional toppings of your choice.  Cut into desired pieces and serve cold.

Why Is My Homemade Pizza Soggy?

Cooked crescent pizza crust can be soggy when not allowed to cool properly before adding the toppings.  It can also become soggy from the condensation on the plastic wrap.
