Smoked Crack Dip

My dip represents the best of the Super Bowl foods. It’s creamy, it’s filled with crispy bacon, it’s salty, and it’s cheesy.

Crack Dip (Bacon Cheese Ranch dip) is created from cream cheese, sour cream, ranch, assorted cheeses, bacon, and diced onion! Crack Dip is my favorite party dip.

Yummy smoked hot dip that’s made with cheesy, creamy, gooey ingredients! This party dip can be prepared ahead of time and then tossed on the smoker grill when you are ready to serve.

Let it cook until the top gets bubbly and golden brown.  Get your party started with this incredible smoked bread and crack dip recipe!

Serve hot or warm, but you should always have it served! We have to admit that many of the ingredients on that dish are super yummy!

Imagine the swirling pleasures of cheese, ranch, cream cheese, and sour cream in a smoked cream cheese dip. The great news is that it can easily be adjusted for any size party.

It is a perfect appetizer dip! Crack dip can help relieve that comfort-food craving that knocks at your door during the cold mid-winter months.

How to Make Crack Dip

Gather all the ingredients to make your crack dip.  Preheat the smoker to 350°F.  I use a Rec Teq Pellet Smoker and absolutely love it!!  You can also use other smokers such as a Traeger smoker grill

In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream until the mixture is smooth and creamy.  Make sure the cream cheese is softened.

You can pop the unwrapped cream cheese in the microwave for 30 seconds. Add the ranch dressing and work that into the dip mixture until combined.

Toss in the shredded Colby cheese, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, bacon pieces (you can use diced cooked bacon or packaged real bacon bits), diced onion, salt, and pepper.

Stir to combine all the ingredients.  Place the dip mixture into a cast iron skillet or a baking dish of your choice.  Top with the shredded parmesan cheese.

How to Smoke the Crack Dip

Place the uncovered cast iron pan onto the hot smoker.  Cook for 30 minutes and check the dip.  Every smoker will have a different cooking time.

After 30 minutes, you want to see the dip bubbling around the edges, the center needs to be warm, and you should see a little golden-brown color around the edges.

Can you make crack dip ahead of time?

Yes, you can make this traditional cream cheese dip a few days ahead of time! Mix the dip ingredients together and store sealed in an airtight container.

Or if you like you can smoke the dip recipe, cool down the dip, and store in an airtight container until ready to serve.  When ready, warm up and serve with your favorite side.

How can I store leftovers?

I have suggestions for storing it and reheating it afterwards. Place leftover smoked dip in a sealed container and store in the fridge for up to 6 days.

Reheat on the smoker grill in a heat appropriate pan until warm or heat up in the microwave using 30 second intervals making sure to stir between intervals.
