Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup Noodles
I recommend making homemade egg noodles for your chicken soup. With whole egg, flour, salt, and some water, are all that you need to make your own noodles.
To learn more, go to my homemade noodles recipe. If you decide not to make your own noodles, then you can buy frozen bags of noodles in the freezer section of your grocery store. Or you can buy bags of dried noodles.
Should I boil noodles before adding to soup? Yes, I recommend cooking your noodles before putting them into the soup.
If you put uncooked noodles into your soup the broth will become thick from the starch in the noodles. Some people like a thick broth and prefer to cook their noodles that way.

How To Make Chick Fil A Chicken Noodle Soup
Gather all the ingredients to make your chicken soup.
Cook your noodles and chicken if needed. This can be done ahead of time if desired to save time.
I like to cook a whole chicken or dark meat chicken pieces in seasoned water until it is tender (about 45 – 60 minutes). I do not recommend using just chicken breasts because the meat dries out in the soup and is not very tasty.
The chicken pieces are removed from the broth (chicken water), cooled, and then cleaned from the bones and skin to use in the soup.
The natural flavor broth is strained to remove any unwanted bits. If done ahead of time, cool the broth and remove all the chicken fat that settled on the top.
In a large pot over medium heat, warm up the seasoned chicken broth. Clean and dice the carrots and celery into small pieces.
Add the chopped carrots, celery, and chicken pieces to the hot broth. Return to a boil and then turn down the burner so the soup is at a simmer.
Cook until the chopped carrots and celery are tender. Toss in the chopped parsley toward the end of cooking the soup, just a few minutes before it’s done.
Check the chicken soup for flavor and add seasoning to taste if needed. Once the vegetables are tender, you can add the cooked noodles to the soup is serving right away.
My family likes to leave the noodles on the side and add as little or as much as desired when it is time to eat the soup. Place in a chicken noodle soup bowl. Serve hot with your favorite sides like saltine crackers.
How to Store Chick fil A Chicken Noodle Soup
If you have any leftover soup, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 6 days. Reheat leftovers in the microwave or a pot on the stove.
After a couple of days eating this soup, I like to take the chicken soup with no noodle in it and make Chicken and Dumplings by heating up with is left. Then add the Bisquick dumplings to the hot broth and cook as described in my recipe.
Can You Freeze Chicken Noodle Soup?
Yes, you can freeze the soup if you keep the noodles separate from the soup. Which is what I recommend. If the noodles are put into the soup, I do not recommend freezing it because the noodles will become mushy.
