When you make this pulled pork recipe, it makes a lot of shredded pork.  Which will leave you looking for leftover pulled pork ideas.

How to Make Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese

Gather all your ingredients to make the pulled pork mac and cheese.  

Cook the penne pasta according to the directions.  

Pre-heat the oven to 350° Fahrenheit.  

Grease a 3-quart baking dish with cooking spray.  

Over medium heat in a medium sized saucepan, melt the butter.  Whisk in the flour to the melted butter and cook for about 2 minutes.

Pouring very slowly while whisking the flour/butter mixture, add the milk and stir to work out any lumps.  Add the seasoned salt and pepper, stir to combine.

Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer.  Simmer for about 2 minutes.  

Combine the shredded cheeses in a large bowl.  Break up the sliced American cheese and add it to the milk/flour/butter mixture along with 1 ¼ cup of the shredded cheese mixture.

Make sure to reserve some of the shredded cheese mixture to top the p. p. mac and cheese dish.  Once cheese is melted, remove from the heat.  

Toss the cooked penne pasta into the cheese sauce mixture and stir to completely coat all the pasta.  

Add the Cooked Pasta to the Cheese/Milk Mixture and combine.

Pour the pasta/cheese mixture into the greased baking dish.  Top with the shredded pulled pork and sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese mixture over everything.

How to Bake your Mac and Cheese Dish

Place the uncovered baking dish into the pre-heated oven and bake for 20 minutes until cheese is melted.  

If you would like a crispy top, then place under the broiler until desired crispness is achieved.  Just make sure to watch and not burn your p. p. mac and cheese dish!

For a little flavor, add a touch of your favorite BBQ sauce on top of the p. p. mac-n-cheese.

  • Penne Pasta 1 lb
  • Butter 2 tablespoons
  • Flour, all purpose 2 tablespoons
  • Milk 2 cups
  • Salt, Lawry's 1/4 teaspoon
  • Pepper, Mortons Seasonings 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cheddar Cheese, Sharp, Shredded 2 cups
  • Colby Jack Cheese, Shredded 1 cup
  • Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded 1 cup
  • American Cheese, Slices 6 each
  • Pulled Pork, Shredded 2 cups
  • BBQ Sauce 2 tablespoons
