How to Make the Best Marinated Chicken Recipe on a Griddle

Gather all the ingredients to make your best marinated chicken recipe.

In a storage container or gallon Ziplock bag place your chicken breast pieces.  Add the Italian dressing on top of the chicken breasts.

If desired, poke a few holes into the chicken to help distribute the flavoring.  Store the marinated chicken breast in the refrigerator for at least one hour up to overnight.

When you are ready to cook the marinated Italian chicken breast, preheat your Blackstone Griddle on medium/low.

Once the griddle is hot, carefully remove the chicken breast from the bag/container with a good coating of the Italian dressing still on the chicken.  Throw away any unused marinate.

Place on the griddle and let cook without touching for about 5 minutes or until nice and golden brown.  Flip the chicken breast with tongs or a large spatula.

Let the chicken cook on the other side until it is done.  Cooking times will vary depending on how big or small your chicken breast is.

I use a digital thermometer to check for doneness with my chicken because I want it to just reach 165° at the thickest part but no higher.  If my chicken breast cooks higher than 165°, then it will start to dry out.

Marinated Chicken Recipe – FAQ

Do You Rinse Marinade Off Chicken Before Cooking?

No, do not rinse your chicken off before cooking.  The Italian dressing marinade helps add extra flavor while cooking.  Just don’t dump all the extra marinade on top of the chicken.  This will create a mess on the Blackstone Griddle.

Does Marinating Chicken Make It Taste Better?

Yes, marinating chicken makes it taste better!!  That is why we marinate all different kinds of meats.  Marinating also helps to tenderize the chicken breast by breaking down the connective tissues.

Do You Poke Holes in Chicken When Marinating?

This is a personal preference, but I poke holes in my chicken when marinating it.  Poking holes helps get the marinate into the chicken which adds more flavor to the finished griddle chicken.

  1. I would never have thought to use salad dressing to marinate chicken, but my gosh it worked so well. Love the tip about poking holes in the chicken to disperse the marinade, so much flavor!
