How to Make a Pistachio Bundt Cake
Gather all your ingredients. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a large bundt cake pan. Use a pastry brush to coat the inside of the pan with oil and the shake the flour to completely cover the oil by rolling the pan in different directions.
Using a KitchenAid mixer fitted with a flat paddle, add the cake mix, pudding mix, oil, eggs, water, and butter to the mixing bowl. Beat on low speed until combined, then turn the mixer up to medium and beat for 2 minutes until well mixed.
Pour half the batter into the prepared bundt cake pan. Use a spatula to spread the cake batter into an even layer in the bottom of the pan.
Cake Filling
This step is one that I have forgot to add to the cake batter and my family reminds me when they eat it that this yummy step has been missed. A simple step that will take your cake to another level of deliciousness!
Combine the ground cinnamon and the granulated sugar in a bowl. With a spoon, sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top of the cake batter in the bundt pan.
Then top the cinnamon sugar mixture with the remaining cake batter. Spread into an even layer with a spatula.
Bake the Pistachio Cake with Pudding
Place the prepared pistachio pudding cake into the preheated oven. Bake for 55 – 60 minutes.
Test for doneness by inserting a wooden toothpick into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, then the cake is done.
If the toothpick has cake batter on it, bake the cake a little longer until the toothpick does come out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 20 minutes before inverting it to cool completely.
Optional Glaze
For an extra touch of sweetness, you can create a simple glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
Frequently Asked Questions
Over-baking can cause the cake to be dry. Be sure to check for doneness by using the toothpick test.
