The Secret Ingredients

What makes this easy strawberry peach smoothie recipe so good?

There are a couple of secrets to making the perfect smoothie.  I start with frozen fruit!  My blender of choice is the Ninja Nutri Professional blender. Start by layering your frozen fruit in the cup. Add the milk and yogurt along with the sweetener.

When summer fruit is at its best our family will pick, process, store and freeze several containers of strawberries and peaches in pint and quart plastic see-thru containers. We pick all of our strawberries at Lutz’s Farms at their u-pick patch.

We have frozen whole strawberries and place them in gallon zip lock bags, which work well if you plan on using them within a month or two.  Our family likes smoothies all year long so I choose the clean, smooch, store and freeze method.

Don’t like peaches in your strawberry peach smoothie?

This recipe is great with substituting different ingredients.  Try a tropical smoothie or just a strawberry smoothie! The secret is to have your fruit frozen.  All of the fruit is frozen!

Add more or less milk to achieve your desired thickness.  This recipe does not have ice added to it that would water down the smoothie.  Another tip that we do when making our smoothies is to add Silk Milk and Silk yogurt because my daughter is sensitive to lactose.

The last tip that I have is to add about 1 tablespoon of strawberry smoothie mix.  We like Fresh Success Strawberry Smoothie mix. If you want a healthier version you can omit the mix.
