Creamy Tortellini Pasta Ingredients

  • Italian Sausage (sweet, mild or hot)
  • Broccoli, cut into small florets
  • Cheese Tortellini, refrigerated
  • Oil
  • Garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chicken Broth
  • Alfredo Sauce
  • Parmesan Cheese, grated

How to Make Griddle Creamy Tortellini Pasta

Gather all your ingredients: Clean and chop the broccoli into bite sized pieces. Remove the Italian sausage from the casings into small pieces.

Preheat the Blackstone Griddle: Turn your Blackstone Griddle to medium heat or 400Β°F on an electric griddle.

Start Cooking: Once the griddle is hot, pour oil on one half of the griddle. Add the chopped broccoli. Stir to combine. (Add some water to steam cook the broccoli, if needed) On the other half of the griddle, add the case-less sausage pieces. As the Italian sausage cooks, chop into small pieces. Once the sausage is cooked, combine the broccoli and sausage together.

Add the Seasonings of your Choice: Add the minced garlic, ground black pepper, or the seasonings of. your choice.  Stir to combine all the ingredients.

Top with the Tortellini Cheese Pasta: Combine the pasta with the cooked sausage and broccoli. Pour 2 cups of the chicken stock over the whole mixture. Cover with a dome lid or griddle lid and let cook for 5 to 10 minutes until the pasta is cooked to your liking. Stir every couple minutes and add more chicken stock to prevent sticking to the griddle. Test the pasta for doneness before moving on to the next step.

Shred the Cheese: As the pasta is cooking, shred the cheese.

Add the Alfredo Sauce and Cheese: Once the pasta is cooked to your liking, add the Alfredo sauce and the shredded cheese. Stir to combine. Taste for flavor and adjust if needed. Serve hot with your favorite sides.

How to Store Sausage, Broccoli, and Tortellini Pasta

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 6 days. To reheat, simply warm on the griddle or microwave until heated through. You can also add a splash of water or broth to keep the pasta moist.

What to Serve with This Pasta Recipe

This hearty griddle dish is a meal in itself, but here are a few side options to round out your plate:

This easy one-griddle meal combines Italian sausage, tender broccoli, and cheesy tortellini for a creamy, satisfying dinner the whole family will loveβ€”Blackstone Griddle style!

Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • Oil 1 tablespoon
  • Broccoli 2 cups
  • Italian Sweet Sausage 1 pound
  • Three Cheese Tortellini Pasta 20 ounces
  • Minced Garlic 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Pepper 1 teaspoon
  • Chicken Stock 3 cups
  • Alfredo Sauce 2 cups
  • Pecorino Romano Cheese 1 1/2 cups

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients: Clean and dice the broccoli into bitesized pieces. Remove the Italian sweet sausage from the casings into small pieces.
  2. Preheat your Blackstone Griddle: Turn the Blackstone Griddle to medium heat or 400Β°F on an electric griddle.
  3. Start Griddle Cooking: Once the griddle is hot, pour oil on one half of the griddle. Add the diced broccoli. Stir to combine. (Add a squirt of water to steam cook the broccoli, if needed) On the other half of the griddle, add the sausage pieces. As the sweet Italian sausage cooks, chop into small pieces. Once the sausage is browned and cooked until it's not pink, combine the broccoli and sausage together.
  4. Season: Add the minced garlic, ground black pepper, or the seasonings of your choice. Β Stir to combine all the ingredients.
  5. Top with the Cheese Tortellini Pasta: Combine the tortellini with the cooked sausage and broccoli. Pour 2 cups of the chicken stock over the whole mixture. Cover with a dome lid or griddle lid and let steam cook for 5 to 10 minutes until the pasta is cooked to your liking. Flip every couple minutes and add more chicken stock to prevent sticking to the griddle. Test the tortellini for doneness before moving on to the next step.
  6. Shred the Pecorino Romano Cheese: As the tortellini pasta is cooking, shred the desired amount of cheese.
  7. Add the Alfredo Sauce and Shredded Cheese: Once the tortellini is cooked to your liking, add the Alfredo sauce and the shredded cheese. Flip to combine all the ingredients. Taste for flavor and adjust any seasonings, if needed. Serve the pasta dish hot with your favorite sides.

Notes

If you like al den tΓ© pasta, use frozen or fresh tortellini right from the package. But, if you like your pasta fully cooked, then precook your cheese tortellini in boiling water before adding to the griddle.
