My Personal Journey to Becoming a Blackstone Griddle Crew Member

For over two years, I dreamed of becoming part of the Blackstone Griddle Crew. I even added it to my vision board as one of my biggest goals. At the end of the summer of 2024, I received a message from fellow Griddle Crew member Mike McCourt of Mikes Mess Hall, who let me know that applications were open—and he encouraged me to apply.

I took his advice, submitted my application, and it turned out to be THE BEST DECISION EVER!

Not only was I accepted, but I also became part of the most incredible group of influencers I could have ever imagined. Blackstone Products has truly made me feel like family. They support my small business by encouraging me to create valuable content—and then go above and beyond by sharing that content with their massive community of Blackstone followers.

One of the highlights so far was being invited to the Blackstone Social Summit, where I got the opportunity to meet, collaborate, and connect with more than 45 other amazing Blackstone influencers. The energy, creativity, and support within this group are unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.

I’m beyond excited to see what the future holds as a Blackstone Griddle Crew member, and I look forward to learning and growing alongside the best content creators in the outdoor cooking space.

What is a Blackstone Griddle Crew Member?

A Blackstone Griddle Crew Member is an official representative of Blackstone Products who promotes the brand through social media, in-person events, and community engagement. Members are passionate about flat-top cooking and love sharing recipes, tips, and inspiration with other griddle enthusiasts.

The crew consists of Ambassadors and Griddle Crew Members, each with unique perks and responsibilities. While Ambassadors primarily focus on brand promotion, Griddle Crew Members have deeper involvement with exclusive events, leadership access, and community projects.

Blackstone Ambassador vs. Griddle Crew: What’s the Difference?

In 2025, Blackstone rolled out two separate levels for its ambassador program:

Ambassadors:

• Access to an affiliate code.
• Potential product placement.
• Swag boxes.
• Invitation to the Social Summit.

Griddle Crew Members:

• All Ambassador perks plus:
  • Earn a stipend for attending the Social Summit.
  • Participate in monthly challenges and Zoom calls.
  • Get direct access to Blackstone leadership.
  • Receive an exclusive monthly newsletter.

The Griddle Crew Leaders

Blackstone’s Griddle Crew is guided by some of the most recognizable names in the griddling world, including:

CJ Frazier – A Griddle Pro who is the Griddle Crew Activation and Relationship Manager.  CJ has an extensive background in production and a heart for fostering relationships.  Known for creative recipes and energetic teaching style where you can check out on his cooking show – CJ’s First Cooking Show!

Blackstone Betty – Also known as Desirée Ruberti.  Desirée is a Griddle Pro and the Griddle Crew Team Liaison.  She is the host of Family Style with Blackstone Betty and is a culinary powerhouse who brings passion and personality to every dish. 

Andy Steele – Is the Griddle Crew Logistics and Implementation Coordinator.  Andy maintains the highest standards of quality for Griddle Crew events, formatting newsletters, facilitating zoom calls, and continues to work on content for the Blackstone network.  A dedicated member of the Blackstone family with a talent for connecting the crew.

These leaders, along with other Blackstone pros and chefs, inspire, mentor, and support crew members through trainings, events, and collaborations.
